Our Story
Cooper and Cay Boutique was founded in 2020 in Northwest Indiana, during the heart of the pandemic. I was teaching full time but suddenly found myself with some extra time on my hands. I previously had an Etsy store and my creative wheels began to turn. I came up with the concept of “quarantine goody bags”. I sold and delivered them all over Northwest Indiana. They included wine, chocolate, a custom wine glass, earrings and toilet paper (ya’ll remember the toilet paper shortage, right???) They were a WILD success and brought some happiness and joy in a very uncertain time! Very soon after I decided to keep the momentum going and my clothing boutique was fully launched in June of 2020.
Cooper and Cay is named after my amazing mom, who was my greatest supporter and inspiration. Initially starting with pop-up shows (LOTS of pop-up shows!) and renting retail locations, Cooper and Cay grew steadily over four years, building a loyal community of women. In the summer of 2024, we made the move to Cody, Wyoming. I put my business on the back burner for about a year as I adjusted to a completely new life and returned to a day job.
I missed my business so much and in early 2025, I took out some savings and took a leap of faith and bought a trailer with no real plan because, why not???? With lots of help from my husband (love you, Kris), we completed the boutique trailer and decided that a mobile store was the way to go. Thanks to some very kind and welcoming people, I landed a spot to park my trailer and start serving the wonderful community of Cody.
Cooper and Cay Boutique is dedicated to my mom, Sharon Cay Cooper (Conover) and my dad, Bob who I love and miss every single day. They cheered me on and supported me every single step of the way.
I would do anything to have them both here with me but I know their memories live on and I’m so grateful to be back on my path, knowing they are both watching over me. I am so thankful for every single supporter on my journey and thank YOU for being here. It means the world to me.
God Bless,
XOXO Amy
